Eligibility

E-3 pathway screening (2 minutes)

Short screening only — not legal advice and not a government visa decision. The US decides eligibility with many factors this page does not test (LCA, wage, inadmissibility, consular review, and more). Here we only triage the same three themes our desk uses: citizenship, a specialty education or accepted equivalent (self-assessed), and a credible path to a US specialty job offer. We do not score you on years of experience or “residential” status beyond citizenship — that detail belongs in a proper consult.

Accuracy you can rely on

The same three yes/no answers are recalculated on the server when you submit (we do not trust the browser). “Eligible” here means: all three are yes under our internal screening — it is still not a guarantee of visa issuance.

We provide general information only. Requirements change — use these as your primary reference for visa classification, employment conditions, and applications.

Screening questions

Are you an Australian citizen?

E-3 is for Australian citizens. Permanent residents who are not citizens should answer “No” here — that outcome does not use the E-3 category in the normal way.

Do you hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a specialty field relevant to the role, or an equivalent for that specialty occupation (under the rules a US case would use)?

“Equivalent” is case-specific; this is your self-assessment only. If you are not sure, answer No and speak with a US immigration attorney before counting on a degree-equivalency path.

Do you have (or are you actively progressing toward) a genuine US job offer in a specialty occupation that fits E-3 patterns?
